Explosive iPhone shooting (*Note! Contains spoilers)

While the iPhone creates a light feeling of ``witnessing'' or ``cuddled in'', 35mm has the depth of its images, creating the effect that everyone in the audience sits down and ``immerses themselves in the world.'' I'll give it to you. Therefore, during the main story, I suddenly realized that I had completely identified with the caretaker played by Willem Dafoe and was watching over the lives of the main characters...I think there were quite a lot of people like that. The reason for choosing 35mm was not simply because it had more budget, but there was also a relationship between ``the world that should be depicted'' and ``the best method to embody it.''

On the other hand, there is one scene in "The Florida Project" where the 35mm film camera was replaced with an iPhone. I'm sure everyone will be surprised by the "change in texture" of the video. Why did you change your device? Was it necessary to change the texture? I can't reveal the details because it would be a spoiler, but it seems that there are deep implications not only about the circumstances that forced him to do this, but also about the structural meaning of the work as fiction and the thoughts of the creator. I would like you to keep this in the back of your mind while enjoying the show.

By the way, this scene received a variety of reactions, including when it was screened at the Cannes Film Festival. After leaving the theater, many people probably wonder, ``What did that mean?'' and they can't help but talk about it with their friends. According to director Baker, by intentionally leaving these parts in, he hopes that the audience will not only enjoy the entertainment aspect of the film, but also be interested in the reality that lies one step beyond that, and continue to think about the issues around them. There seems to be some.

His skill is to entertain the audience's eyes, ears, and hearts to the fullest, while also opening their eyes to something else. Director Sean Baker is no ordinary man after all. Its name recognition, presence, and influence are sure to become even more important in the future. What kind of place in the world will he take in his next work, The Day After what kind of filming methods will he use to depict ``reality''? I have high hopes for his future endeavors.
