Another Jeanne

Delphine Seyrig became the muse of the Nouvelle Vague after Alain Resnais's `` Last Year at Marienbad '' (61). Since the 1970s, she has stood in solidarity with Chantal Akerman and Marguerite Duras with the slogan, ``I want to make films that show the hardships faced by women.'' In later years, she also became active as a writer of feminist films.

A behind-the-scenes video of Jeanne Dielman shows Delphine Seyrig clashing with Chantal Akerman and her staff over the script's lack of room for creative acting. Chantal Akerman is preparing a singing stage for ``Another Jeanne'' in ``Golden Eighties.'' It's like an intimate gift from the filmmaker to Delphine Seyrig-Jeanne.

The scene where Jeanne is called by her name by her former lover Eli. Delphine Seyrig's acting is wonderful, as she can't help but step back in surprise at this unexpected reunion. There is a beauty here that is born from the unraveling of emotions. However, it is Eli who is losing his mind over the reunion after 30 years. Although Jeanne trembles with joy at the reunion, she knows that the youth of love has already been lost. I know that it is difficult to relive the feelings I had at that time. Compared to Jeanne, who pretends to be calm, Eli seems to have no doubts about the youthfulness of his love. The love depicted in this film never intersects, just like the opening shot of feet passing by. It never stays. Love grows old and leaves with the sound of footsteps. That sound will also disappear someday.
