Repeated motifs from the Star Wars canon

Howard created "Solo" together with screenwriters Lawrence and Jonathan Kasdan, and as mentioned above, it inherits the characteristics of the series that were present from Lucas's early concept, such as space action, grandiosity, realistic visual effects, and fast-paced action.

In terms of the story, one thing not to miss is the fact that the motif of "patricide," a major element that enhanced the drama of the "Star Wars" saga, is repeated in this work. "Patricide" is a narrative element seen as far back as the Greek myth of "Oedipus," in which a man kills the parent who raised him to become an "adult," a rite of passage in growth. A variation of this motif is that an older person who has influence over the protagonist is placed instead of the protagonist's real father, and the symbolic "patricide" is sometimes depicted as the protagonist overcoming the presence of a protector in some way, even if he does not actually kill him.

In "Solo," Beckett, played by Woody Harrelson, becomes a father figure to Han, who appears as an orphan. Beckett, a senior Jack Reacher, tells Han "don't trust anyone" and teaches him to survive tough. The two fight through many trials together and seem to have developed a bond, but they eventually face off. In this scene, we can't help but remember the fate that was repeated in the official story.
