Overall picture of “Star Wars” official history and position of anthology
The Star Wars series is recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as the world's highest-grossing science fiction film series (more than $7.456 billion as of January 2017). The latest work to be released as the second Another Story is ``Solo: A Star Wars Story.''
Distributor Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures has branded the Another Story series, including 2016's Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, as the Anthology Series. There is. Before we get into the content of ``Han Solo,'' let's review the position of the ``main history'' of the series, the ``canon,'' and the anthology.
“Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” preview
Before Disney acquired Lucasfilm, in addition to the old trilogy (Original Trilogy, Episodes 4-6) and the new trilogy (Prequel Trilogy, Episodes 1-3), there was no story alignment. A large number of anime, comics, and novels with a relatively loose worldview that lacked sexual characteristics were released as spin-off works authorized by Lucasfilm. Disney, which acquired Lucasfilm in 2012, has set its sights on producing a sequel trilogy (Sequel Trilogy, Episodes 7 to 9), which is based on a mainstream live-action film series and an anime series with consistent storylines. Some works, such as the movie `` Star Wars: The Clone Wars ,'' are recognized as ``canonical history.'' We then decided to distinguish a group of works that do not belong to the official history by calling them "Legends." Furthermore, they decided to call the new live-action Another Story movies produced under the Disney system an ``anthology series'' in order to distinguish them from past spin-offs.
Furthermore, in terms of the era depicted in the two anthology works, "Rogue One" focuses on the events that occurred just before " Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope ," and the story of "Han Solo" takes place there. It was set about 10 years ago.
