Intention to use many western elements

When Lucas was making "A New Hope," he imagined Han as a "space cowboy." It seems like a logical choice for the production team to borrow elements of western movies to help shape the character in this film, which stars Han.

Han and Chewbacca join Beckett's gang of thieves, and their first big job is to steal a precious supply of coaxium, a power source, from a freight train speeding through the planet Vandor 1. Han, eager to prove himself, struggles to open a coupling, engage in a gunfight with guards and Enfys Nest's gang, and pilot a spaceship. This thrilling sequence may use high-tech weapons and vehicles, but the action is straight out of a classic Western train robbery.

In addition, scenes commonly seen in Western movies, such as talking about oneself in front of a campfire, card gambling, a treasure fight between Jack Reacher, and a quick-draw duel, are frequently used. The accumulation of these sequences strengthens Han's image as a "cowboy."
