Bee Gees wrote a new song for ``Saturday Night Fever''

In addition to the Bee Gees , "MelodyChildren " by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young (CSN&Y). This song was also included in the album "Deja Vu" released the year before the movie, but the lyrics of the "battle" between students, teachers, and parents at the climax express the complicated relationship between parents and children, creating a slightly heart-wrenching effect that is beyond description.

The Bee Gees, who had their songs "used," then wrote songs specifically for the movie " Saturday Night Fever " in 1977. Songs that were the image of the movie itself, such as " Night Fever ," " Stayin' Alive ," and " Love Is All That Glitter ," literally caused a "fever" around the world along with the movie, and a sequel called " Stayin' Alive " was made in 1983.

Although the sequel's featured song was " Far From Over " by Frank Stallone (brother of director Sylvester Stallone), Bee Gees songs dominated the soundtrack.

The style of using existing songs as music to fit the story of a film, as in "Melody," has since developed into works such as greatest hits films for artists, such as " Mamma Mia! " (2008), which turned ABBA's hit songs into a musical with lyrics set to match, or more recently, Japanese films such as " Sunny: Our Hearts Beat Together " (2018), which compiles songs from a certain era.

However, the incredible unity between the drama and music of the 1971 film "Melody" still draws the viewer in on a miraculous level, even after nearly 50 years. This may also be the reason why Japanese fans have loved the film for so many years. David Puttnam's belief that "music is the universal language of the world" has been brilliantly achieved.
