“Antique from a bad movie” that served as the starting point for “Easy Rider”

When I watch old movies, I sometimes feel a sense of curiosity, even though I'm half astonished, thinking, ``This is how they used to make movies.'' An encounter with a movie that would never be made today. It gives me a strange feeling, as if I've come across something strange at a junk market...

The motorcycle movie ``The Wild Angels,'' starring Peter Fonda, is perhaps one of those antique youth films. When you hear this title, you might say, "I've never heard of a title like that." It's a work only known to those in the know, but the DVD was released in Japan in May 2019.

It was first released in the United States in 1966 and was a huge hit at the time, but it was shown in Japan after the release of Easy Rider (1969), which also starred Fonda and caused a social phenomenon.

The main characters of ``The Wild Angels'' are the American biker gang, the Health Angels, and the story depicts their out-of-control youth. Peter Fonda is one of the ``original'' second-generation stars of Hollywood who was popular in Japan in the 1970s.His father is Henry Fonda, a famous Hollywood actor of yesteryear known for roles such as ``Duel in the Wilderness '' (1946). Her co-star is Nancy Sinatra, and her father is Frank Sinatra, who is still immortally popular as a singer.
