A conspiracy theorist driven by a sense of mission

The similarities between these images are interesting, but what is more important is that ``The Truman Show'' is based on the idea that is characteristic of conspiracy theories, that is, ``This world is manipulated by people and authorities with a plan, and The Truth is ``Individuals and groups who act deceitfully on the surface are complicit in a conspiracy behind the scenes'' ``Nothing is a coincidence, there is a reason for every event and a fixed pattern'', etc. The point is that it is presented as a story.

For example, there is a scene in the movie where Truman gives a strange explanation to his wife. "I predict what's going to happen now. First, there'll be a woman on a red bicycle, then a man holding flowers, and finally, a wagon with a dented fender will pass by." This is his basis for showing that all the people walking on the street are actors and that the world is a fiction, but discovering seemingly meaningless laws and causal relationships is what conspiracy theorists are best at; He has a unique personality that requires him to find links and correlations.

The more insane Truman is portrayed as, the more conspiracy theorists will sympathize with him (as in, ``Well, people think I'm crazy when I try to tell The Truth.'') Truman is driven by a conspiracy theorist's unique sense of mission: ``I am the only one who is alienated from The Truth, and I must find that The Truth.''
