The underwear dance was invented by Jamie Lee Curtis

Of course, although it looks like it was made with a club-like vibe, the scene is very serious. Schwarzenegger rehearsed for about six months for the tango scene mentioned above. His goal was to film ` `Scent of a Woman '' (1992), for which Al Pacino won an Oscar, so he was very determined. Apparently, he suffered an accident while filming a horseback riding scene.

Jamie Lee Curtis, who played Harry's wife Helen, who won a Golden Globe Award for her performance as brilliant as Schwarzenegger's, is one of the most physical actors in True Lies. The sensational pole dance she performs in the film can be said to be the highlight of the film, but Curtis's opinions were used in most of the scenes. Originally, the plan was for Curtis to be naked in the dark and show only his silhouette, but Curtis proposed a plan to be in his underwear and openly illuminated. As a result, the famous scene was born.

By the way, many names have played the role of Helen, including Kim Basinger, Annette Bening, Madonna, Demi Moore, Michelle Pfeiffer, Sharon Stone, Emma Thompson, Sigourney Weaver, Julianne Moore, Julia Roberts, etc. At one point, Jodie Foster was in the running. Nowadays, it is hard to imagine casting anyone other than Curtis, but it seems that the heroine role was not easily decided. That's why the praise given to her for winning the role has even more special meaning.

The opening title shows Cameron and Schwa's deep respect for Curtis. Actually, this was supposed to be displayed as Cameron → Schwa-chan → Title. However, Cameron was impressed by Curtis' work style and wanted to include Curtis' name in front of the title, so he called Schwarzenegger. Schwa readily agreed, and Curtis' name was "promoted." It can be said that this is an episode that shows the happy relationship between the three people.

Just like the actors, Cameron approached this work with full enthusiasm. Uneasy about taking on comedy, he initially assembled a team of screenwriters, but ultimately decided to write it himself from scratch. When the studio was reluctant to cast Tom Arnold, who played Harry's colleague Albert, due to his divorce, the studio said, ``If we can't hire him, we'll shoot it elsewhere.''

For the toilet fight scene, we were so particular about how it looked that we decided to renovate the set. In the end, the toilet set was tripled in size and filming took five days. After that, his schedule fell behind and he was left without sleep or rest. Curtis performed the helicopter rescue scene without any stunts, and Cameron also filmed the dangerous scene with a handheld camera.

In this way, there are too many stories to mention of the bravery of the cast and staff in this work. We actually borrowed a fighter jet from the U.S. Marine Corps and filmed the explosion scene at the Seven Mile Bridge on the Overseas Highway in Florida, U.S.A. (we did not actually explode it, but also used it with special effects). It's completely different from other movies where the level of seriousness is average.

This overlaps with the previous point, but it can be said that because they worked with all their might, they were able to create a piece of supreme entertainment with a perfect balance of action and comedy.
