Success as an R&B band and a movie that goes beyond comedy
At the end of the 1970s, the mainstream of black music at the time was disco. A pleasant arrangement and a rhythm that resonates inorganically. Going against this trend, we aim to play rugged, good old R&B based on the band's live sound. That was also the mission of The Blues Brothers.
Early in their career, The Blues Brothers Band opened for a music show guest-hosted by Carrie Fisher, best known for her role as Princess Leia in the Star Wars films. The famous actor Jack Nicholson was also in the audience for this show. Regardless, his performance on the show was well-received, and Fisher was later cast in the film The Blues Brothers.
Due to their popularity on `` Saturday Night Live ,'' Belushi and Aykroyd were approached about a record contract under The Blues Brothers name. Thus, in 1978, they released their debut album `` Blues wa Kizuna ''. The live recording of the album was a huge hit, selling 3.5 million copies in the United States. With such popularity as a backdrop, the 1980 movie ``The Blues Brothers'' began to take off.

The Blues The Blues Brothers , a yakuza duo living in Chicago , hold a concert to raise money to save the orphanage where they were raised, which is in danger of disappearing due to inability to pay taxes, but they run into a series of troubles. The story of the movie `` The Blues Brothers'' is based on a 324-page screenplay written by Aykroyd that is the size of a telephone directory. Director Landis, who teamed up with Belushi after `` Animal House, '' trimmed this to 120 pages and made it into a crisp piece of entertainment.
