Exciting car action to the beat of music

The second pillar, car action, is actually not unrelated to music. According to Henry Gibson, who plays a neo-Nazi commander in the film, there is a musical beat to the scene where police cars crash one after another. By the way, Edgar Wright, the director of the 2017 movie Baby Driver , which created a buzz by combining car action and musicals, cites ``The Blues Brothers'' as one of the best car action movies.

The Blues Brothers' favorite car, commonly known as the Blues Mobile, is a police car sold by the police. The action is truly exhilarating as you drive this ponkotsu and evade the pursuit of an army of police cars.

In the first half, there is an incredible scene in which the Blues Mobile destroys a shopping mall while dodging the pursuit of police cars. It was filmed on a set in an abandoned mall in Illinois. The show windows and store fixtures were completely destroyed. There was no spectacle like this in the 1980 movie.

The car chase in Chicago was filmed on a Sunday when there were few cars on the streets. At the end of the chase under an overpass, several police cars collide and fall. All of these vehicles use real police cars.

Just when the Blues Mobile thinks it has evaded a group of police cars, it is quickly chased by a neo-Nazi car.The Blues Mobile performs an extraordinary feat by running over an elevated structure that is under construction and somersaulting just before an unconstructed area. The neo-Nazi car, on the other hand, fails to make the turn and falls from an unbuilt overpass. This scene involved extensive filming in which a car was actually dropped from a helicopter.

The climax is in the tax department of Chicago City Hall. In pursuit of The Blues Brothers, not only police but also SWAT teams, fire departments, and even the military rush in. Not only cars but also tanks and helicopters are brought in. This scene alone shows that it is a big deal. By the way, it is well known that the hit maker, Steven Spielberg, played the role of the staff member dealing with the Brothers.
