``Fargo'' Happiness lies beyond greed. The Coen brothers' masterpiece, its charm

Happiness is right next to your daily life

Fargo is very similar to Raising Arizona in that it depicts a kidnapping, the wife is a police officer, the husband is out of touch with the world, there are petty villains and then there are cold-blooded villains, etc. But Marge and Norm are a more mature couple than the Raising Arizona in that they are content with their humble existence.

During the production of "Fargo," Joel Coen and Frances McDormand adopted a child and became parents. Joel's younger brother Ethan also experienced the birth of his wife. It would not be surprising if such feelings were reflected in Marge and Norm's couple. In any case, there is no doubt that the Coen brothers have matured as filmmakers since the production of "Raising Arizona."

"Raising Arizona" preview

Both "The Raising Arizona" and "Fargo" end with a scene of a husband and wife lying in the same bed. The former couple, who did not get what they wanted, dream of a future they hope would be like this. In contrast, the latter couple does not dream. They do not need to ask for things they do not have. They do not have desires in the first place. Happiness lies beyond desire - the theme of the story is that there is warmth even in a cold land. In search of such warmth, I will watch "Fargo" again this winter.
