Challenges to long takes and one-shot shots that arouse the director's desires

Needless to say, in terms of cutting-edge technology, each shot is basically taken in long takes and is stitched together using advanced digital processing, and CG is used extensively for intense action scenes such as the falling of a fighter jet. The film's incredible affinity with analog sets earned it an Academy Award for Best Special Effects.

Director Sam Mendes had tried this one-cut video in his previous film, ` `Spectre '' (15). Opening Day of the Dead parade in Mexico City. From there, James Bond is about to share a bed with a woman, and he gets into a battle with his enemies, all in a single cut for about five and a half minutes. At this time, director Mendes had already confessed that he had a strong desire to make one cut. Since he originally had a career as a stage director, he probably wants the audience to experience time as it passes before their eyes.

"007 Spectre" opening

Not only Mendes, but many movie directors have a desire for one-shots and long takes. A typical example is Brian De Palma, who uses long takes in many of his works. In particular, the opening scene of `` Bonfire of the Vanities '' (1990), in which Bruce Willis exits a limousine and heads to the party venue, lasts for five minutes and cannot be cut.

Alfred Hitchcock, who provided many inspirations for De Palma, also attempted a long take and one-shot in `` The Rope '' (1948), which is said to be the first time in film history. Unlike today, this was a time when people were shooting on film, and in 1948, the longest length of film was about 10 minutes. Although there are some clever changes to the film and some obvious cuts, this is a work that has been told in the form of ``one cut of the entire movie'' for the time being.

With the transition from film to digital over a long period of time, some full-length works were shot entirely in one cut. It is 2002's " Hermitage Fantasy ". Russian director Alexander Sokurov kept his camera moving inside the Hermitage Museum, a world heritage site, for 90 minutes without making a single cut.

"Victoria" preview

Subsequently, director Sebastian Schipper's 2015 film `` Victoria '' tells the story of a nightmarish incident that begins with a chance encounter, with the dialogue mostly improvised and the camera continuing to roll even when something happens. The movie was completed with cuts.

Also, although not the entire film, `` Utøya: July 22 '' (18) features a 72-minute shot of the ``scene'' portion of the shooting incident in Norway. As with ``Hermitage Fantasy,'' the actual filming took place over five days, with careful rehearsals. There was a total of five tests, once a day, and the best one was used in the main story.
