Relationship with Nastassja Kinski

After that, Paul Schrader starred in `` The Mosquito Coast '' (86) starring Harrison Ford, `` The Last Temptation '' (1987) starring Michael J. Fox, and `` The Last Temptation '' directed by M. Scorsese. (88 screenplay only), he depicts the unknown side of America, the people of the city, the taboos of Christianity, etc., and builds a formography with a unique artistry that distances himself from major Hollywood works.

Also, it seems that the approach to filmmaking was European-style, and Paul Schrader and Nastassja Kinski, the lead actor, had a love affair that was said to be common in old French films (?). Apparently they were in a lover's relationship. During the making of the movie, the director himself confessed, ``It's true that I fell in love with my girlfriend during filming, and my life became a mess.''

Paul Schrader, who was close friends with Francis Ford Coppola, fell in love with Nastassja Kinski at first sight when he went to the set of ` `One from the Heart '' (1982), and became a friend of ``Cat People'' . She claimed that no one else could have played the lead role in ``People''. However, the relationship between the two broke up after filming ended, with Nastassja Kinski demanding that her nude scenes be removed and not participating in any promotional campaigns. As expected, the editing was not changed, but it seems that the relationship between the two was never repaired after that.

The completed work was not a hit in the United States, as it was not an easy-to-understand horror film, but depicted an erotic and perverted love story, but it seems to have been well received in Europe. Hollywood at the time was on the eve of the introduction of CG, so in addition to Ferdinand's splendid sets, the film featured analog construction and a uniquely dark worldview, including matte paintings by veteran Albert Whitlock and extensive use of real animals. This feature has made it a cult work with a strong fan following.
