A cynical view of content consumption

"Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers" depicts how creatures of various appearances come together to create a society, while also commenting on the cruelty of content being consumed as a reaction.

What's effective here is the setting that Chip and Dale were actors. This can be said of other works, and it cynically shows what happens when the demand for "performers" as characters declines. This work features countless characters from various studios, including Disney. The most prominent of these is Ugly Sonic.

Originally, when the initial design of Sonic from the movie " Sonic the Hedgehog " (20) was released in the real world, it was met with criticism all over the world and was revised, but in this film, Ugly Sonic appears as the "not chosen" Sonic. In other words, the Sonic that appears in " Sonic the Hedgehog " and Ugly Sonic are set to be "different people."

In the play, there are many other "talents" who failed to gain popularity and fell into decline (on the other hand, there are also those who regained popularity). One of them is Sweet Pete, the villain of this film. His true identity, revealed in the middle of the film, is Peter Pan. As he "played" the eternal boy, he became less needed as he grew older and was shut out of the show business world.

So he started making bootlegs. He would give plastic surgery to celebrities who, like himself, were deemed unnecessary and drowning in debt, and make new works as "bootlegs" (or sell them off to illegal studios overseas). Searching for their missing friend Monterey Jack, Chip and Dale are eventually forced to confront Sweet Pete. In a way, Sweet Pete is what Chip and Dale "could have become." This mirror structure is very sad, and paradoxically highlights the difference between Sweet Pete and Chip and Dale.

Dale clings to his past glory and hopes to rise again (he is heartbreaking as he puts up a bluff by live streaming almost every day), while Chip holds a grudge over being betrayed by Dale. There is a rift between the two, but as Chip and Dale reconcile and become equals, each functions as a "brake." Meanwhile, Sweet Pete's minions and accomplices encourage his actions. Will they act as a brake or an accelerator? It is truly allegorical how the two, both in the show business world, are divided by whether to stay or fall.
