New film from the team behind ' Brigsby Bear' and 'Palm Springs'
Among the video streaming services available in Japan, such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and U-NEXT, Disney+ is a latecomer but is rapidly gaining influence.
Its strengths lie in its high content, including Disney animation, Pixar works, MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe), and Star Wars, and in 2021 it will add a new brand, "Star." In addition to FOX-related works, domestic dramas and anime will also be available to watch. It will exclusively distribute original works such as "Gannibal," "The Picked-Up Man," "Yojohan Time Machine Blues," and "Summertime Render." The "streaming warring states era" is likely to become even more complicated in the future.
Disney+ has never run out of topics to talk about, with " Doctor Strange / Multiverse of Madness " (22) being directly linked to the Disney+ film " WandaVision " (there have been links between theatrical and Disney+ films in the past, but this is a more solid connection), and the " Star Wars " spinoff " Obi-Wan Kenobi " starting streaming on May 27th. One of the new films that has been attracting attention among viewers is the movie "Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers."
"Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers" Trailer
Just looking at the title of this film, which began streaming on May 20th, it seems to be the story of Chip and Dale, but we want you to take a look at the staff. It is directed by Akiva Schafer, and the main character Dale is played by Andy Samberg. It is a work created by the members of the comedy trio "The Lonely Island" (Jorma Taccone also participates as a voice actor). They are the trio who rose to fame on the popular show "Saturday Night Live," and John Mulaney, who plays the other main character Chip, is also a writer for "Saturday Night Live." This might lead you to predict that it will not be a straightforward work.
By the way, some of the films that The Lonely Island has worked on in the past include the mischievous and industry-filled ` `Popstar '' (2016), ` `Brigsby Bear '' (2017), which was popular with movie lovers in Japan as well, and ` `Palm Springs, '' which recorded the highest sales price in the history of the Sundance Film Festival (as of 2020).
By the way, Kyle Mooney, the original creator and lead actor of " Brigsby Bear, " is also a cast member of "Saturday Night Live." This is the story of a protagonist who was raised by a kidnapper and grew up watching only educational programs. " Palm Springs " is a sci-fi romantic comedy that can be said to be a new interpretation of time leap stories. Both works can be said to be movies with high creative potential. "Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers," produced by the same people who have brought us such works, is also a film that is not bound by conventional "common sense." Many viewers were probably surprised by the unexpected content.
