interrupted girl
“Her life, interrupted in the middle of a lesson, is like my life, interrupted in the middle of music at the age of eighteen. Her life was taken away and fixed on canvas. A moment stopped, With that, all other time stood still. What kind of time was it meant to be or was supposed to be? What kind of life could be recovered from it?'' (`` Girls in the Adolescent Ward' ')
The original title for `` Girls in the Adolescent Ward ,'' ``Girl, Interrupted,'' was inspired by Vermeer's painting ``Interrupted Musical Practice.'' The scene in which Lisa and Susanna escape from the hospital and come face-to-face with the painting in the museum was cut out in the final edit, but it turned out to be a very appealing result. Unreleased scenes were included as bonus footage when the game was released. When you look at the edited scenes, you realize that many of the fantastical scenes in this film were cut out. This decision makes this work feel more like our own skin.
Just like Lisa, who is devilish yet loyal and honest, Susanna is torn between two conflicting emotions. The line "ambivalent" appears in a conversation between Susanna and the doctor played by Vanessa Redgrave. Susannah remembers misinterpreting the word ambivalent. If there is a remote cause of Susannah's problems, it is connected to her not understanding the emotion that this word conveys. These words are said to have come from Winona Ryder when James Mangold consulted her about the script, as he was unsure of which direction to take with the script. Ambivalent: being attracted to opposite directions.
How many people do you have to sleep with to be considered a slut? Is a woman who has slept with 10 people a slut? Isn't a man who has slept with 109 people a slut? This scene, including the discussion of these fluctuations, reveals the main theme of this work, which asks the question, ``What is normal?''
