Sequel Meister Fede Alvarez

The new director of "Alien" is Fede Alvarez , a spirited filmmaker who first caught the attention of the film industry with "Don't Breathe" (2006), a novel idea in which three young men break into the home of a blind elderly man with the intention of robbing him, only to be defeated by the thieves.

In fact, when Blomkamp's version fell through, Fede Alvarez pitched his own plan to Scott Free Productions (a film production company founded by Ridley Scott). He lists "Alien" as one of his Alien , along with " The Battle of the Five Armies " (52) directed by George Sidney, " Back to the Future " (89) directed by Robert Zemeckis, and " Oldboy " (2003) directed by Park Chan-wook. Like many film directors, this sci-fi horror was a special work for him.

In a conversation with Ridley Scott, he described that first Contact as follows:

"The first time I saw ' Alien ' was not actually the movie itself, but a broadcast on Uruguayan television... It was a program introducing a part of the movie, and they were explaining a little about the monster. I was still a child, and just seeing that footage scared me... I still remember the scene featured on the program vividly. The scene where the cat was staring at the monster was really impressive. It was as if it was looking at it with cold eyes, and that stayed in my mind." (*3)

The casting of Fede Alvarez is a logical decision. He directed " The Evil Dead " (2013), a reboot of Sam Raimi's classic The Texas Chain Saw Massacre , and " The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo " (2011), a sequel to " The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo " (2018), which had a completely new cast and staff, and produced and wrote the original story for " The Texas Chain Saw Massacre : Leatherface Returns" (2022), the ninth installment of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre series. He has an impeccable track record in horror and suspense sequels.

Moreover, the Alien are set to be blind, but if you think about it, the old man in " Don't Breathe " was also blind. Fede Alvarez was the best choice to make the sequel to the series about fighting blind monsters for the first time in 27 years.
