This is James Cameron! A glimpse of Cameron's world seen in "Aliens"
2018.08.14
Suspense that takes advantage of the structure of the place
Cameron World explodes even in battle scenes. The structure of the base where the Alien are fought in ``Terminator 2: Judgment Day Aliens '' is very similar to the structure of the steel mill where the deadly battle with the T-1000 takes place at the end of `` Aliens''. Things like falling into a gap, or in Terminator 2: Judgment Day, Schwarzenegger's T-800 appears using gears, creating a great deal of suspense that takes advantage of the structure of the place.
In terms of making the most of the location's structure, the use of elevators is a notable commonality in Cameron films. The Talented Mr. Ripley and Hicks (Michael Biehn) get into the elevator to escape from the Alien , the elevator door takes a long time to close, the Alien jumps in to pry it open just as the door closes, and Hicks fires a shotgun at the Alien to fend it off. This scene can be directly replaced with the escape scene from the mental hospital in Terminator 2: Judgment Day. The Alien is the T-1000, Hicks is the T-800, and The Talented Mr. Ripley is Sarah Connor and John Connor.

By the way, at the end of ``Aliens'', blue plasma is shown running through the atmospheric manufacturing factory, about to explode, and this is similar to the plasma generated when ``The Terminator'' travels back in time. In fact, it seems that the electrodes from ``The Terminator'' were reused. I see, they are similar.
