Passion, intoxication, and surprising time travel.

Time travel is a long-held dream of mankind. Therefore, many science fiction works dealing with this theme have been created throughout history. H.G. Wells's novel `` The Time Machine '' is a work that can be said to be the source of ideas that have constantly influenced various works, and if I were to narrow it down to movies, ` `Back to the Future, ” trilogy is the most well-known time travel series in history. Although it was a blockbuster, it provided an opportunity for people to think about ``the possible past, present, and future'' on a life-size scale.

On the other hand, it is possible to travel through space and time even without a serious time machine. If there is a science fiction love romance like `` Somewhere in Time '' (80) where you can travel through time just by looking at the coins of that era, then ` `About Time' ' (13) is about the inside of a closet. There is also a method of praying with both hands tightly clenched into fists. It may be that works related to time travel can be divided into ``technological types,'' which make full use of the latest technology, and ``concentration/euphoria/ Vertigo types,'' in which you can think or fall into a state of mind without using any kind of device.

What about ``Twelve Monkeys,'' which was born in the 1990s?The way the protagonist is sent from the future to the past at a key station is truly a ``technology-type'' game that brings together all the forces. However, for some reason, there is also an essence of ``euphoria and Vertigo'' that cannot be summed up in the word technique alone. The film's subtle nuances, which blur the line between analog and digital, between reality and delusion, can be said to be a major feature of this film.

How was this unique characteristic acquired? Of course, the Argentine tango tunes that decorate the entire film and the graffiti art of creepy monkeys painted on the walls are also secret ingredients that create a unique atmosphere. At the same time, if you want to unravel this work, you must never forget the existence of two films that had a major influence on the story.
