My father disappears, my mother is confused, and I stand still.
When the family framework collapses, the boy learns that his parents are also human.
A lonely family drama with a mixture of maturity and finality.
When you hear Paul Dano, what's the first movie that comes to mind? " Little Miss Sunshine " (06) " There Will Be Blood " (07) " Ruby Sparks " (12) " Prisoners " (13) " Swiss Army Man " (16)...His None of his films are similar, and the only thing they all have in common is that they're all entertaining. Paul makes his long-awaited directorial debut. Movie fans must have been looking forward to seeing what kind of strange work would come.
But what he created was a story about a tiny little family. A melancholy and elegant book that plainly looks at a broken family and a changing heart. The style of this work deserves the title of ``masterpiece'' rather than masterpiece.

``When I made the movie, I knew it would be about family,'' said Paul, who chose Pulitzer Prize-winning author Richard Ford's 1990 novel ``WILDLIFE'' as the original story. Paul, who was born in 1984, has reread this novel many times throughout his life.
To adapt "A Book of My Life," which is closely linked to his childhood memories, he called on members he knows well. In this film, Paul co-starred with Zoe Kazan, who is also his partner in A Very Private Affair, co-wrote and produced the script with Paul. In addition, Jake Gyllenhaal, who co-starred with Paul in "Prisoners," appears in the film, and his production company Nine Stories is involved, and Jake himself is credited as a producer.

In addition, David Lang , who is in charge of music, also worked on the soundtrack for Paul's film `` Grand Finale '' (2015), and Matthew Hannam, who served as editor, collaborated with Paul following ``Swiss Army Man''. Zoe and cast Carrie Carey Mulligan are said to be old friends, giving the impression that the majority of the staff and cast are "relatives." However, the reason why they have such a high level of members is probably because of the brilliant career of the beloved and unique Paul Dano.
In ``Wildlife,'' the ``cinematic language'' that he has cultivated in collaboration with famous creators is brought to life and quietly moves on screen.
