Pseudo-romance elements that symbolize Hannibal's humanity

Although it is a mysterious work full of strong depictions throughout, there is another reason why ``Hannibal'' has gained so many fans. It's a complicated relationship similar to Will and Hannibal's romantic feelings.

Hannibal, who acts as a brake and caretaker for Will, who has some mental instability as part of his ability, is torn between wanting to control him and being excited by the rise of someone who could be a worthy opponent. . Having Will find out his true identity would mean his own destruction, but he has a thirst for understanding and a pride in wanting to defeat the FBI's best man... Although he seems to have a cool face, when you try to guess what Hannibal's thoughts are, it's quite complicated.

Although he is positioned as a cannibalistic murderer and a pleasure murderer, as I mentioned earlier, Hannibal in this work still has gaps and fluctuations in his humanity, and these parts are not human-like. connected to. The reason he commits copycat murders and tries to destroy evidence is because he doesn't want to get caught or find out who he really is, but there are times when his feelings waver. There is a loneliness swirling inside him that cannot be satisfied with just food.

For this reason, Hannibal is both interested in and loathed by serial killers who share similar tendencies. On the other hand, he also feels a strange sympathy for the members of the FBI who threaten to strangle him. Hannibal himself may not be 100% positive about his "cannibal" personality. There are also depictions like this, and he has established a unique position that is difficult to fit into pure evil. This imperfection can be said to be the human charm of Hannibal in this work.

While I like it, I also feel threatened and hate it. Hannibal is swayed by conflicting desires, toying with Will and driving him into a corner. Hannibal's feelings toward Will, who can be described as a ``dangerous object'' that he wants to keep close to him, can be described as love. This romantic element gave rise to passionate fans known as ``fannivals,'' and became the driving force behind the creation of many derivative works by them.

If you think about this part, it becomes clear that Will's ability to ``trace the criminal's emotions'' can be seen as a kind of spiritual encounter from the perspective of the victim. Although it feels immoral, it can be a relief for those who walk alone on the path of sin. The truth that no matter how gloomy a person may be cannot overcome loneliness is certainly flowing through.

This mysterious relationship of trust between the pursuer and the pursued can be said to be the underlying theme of the series that Hannibal and Clarice have formed, and is proof that Hannibal inherits the essence of the original and movie version in a new form. It has also become That's why, even though it pursues its own unique path, this work is still a pure Hannibal.

It is obvious that I would like to see this series reach the heights of `` The Silence of the Lambs '' and beyond. I would like to conclude this article with the hope that the continuation of their story will be written in the future.
