The power of “Like a Virgin” that has nothing to do with the main story

The legend begins with this scene. Men gather around a round table in a diner in LA and engage in idle talk. The members wear white shirts, black suits, ties, and sunglasses, and call each other by their color names, such as brown and orange, rather than their real names. Just when you think it's going to start with a tense bank robbery plan, it turns out to be an interpretation of Madonna's famous song "Like a Virgin." According to Mr. Brown, played by Tarantino, "the song itself is an allusion to big dicks." It is said that when Tarantino later confirmed this interpretation with Madonna herself, she clearly denied it, saying, "No, this is a pure love song."However, Madonna did not dislike this work, and rather praised it highly. It seems that they are evaluating it.

“Like a Virgin” MV

Even now, when I enjoy this scene, it blows my mind to the point of screaming. Why? To put it bluntly, whether it's the "Like a Virgin" argument or the "never tip" argument that is going on here, there is no direct connection to the crime drama that will take place in the future.

If a screenplay is a structure, these episodes are not only not the backbone of the story, but also exist without any support, just dangling in mid-air. In other words, ``opinions'' that are free from meaning, context, logic, etc. are presented. This excited the audience as being extremely daring and thrilling. I've never seen anything like this before.

"Introducing episodes that are not directly related to the story has now become Tarantino's trademark. By including conversations that are unrelated to the plot, he can escape from patterning and bring in a touch of reality. Life is also illogical and without a script. Perhaps that's why people sense a strong sense of reality in these passages. In fact, Tarantino has lived in the world of many police officers and gangsters. One person even said, ``The lines you write for movies are very interesting and realistic.''

Meeting Harvey Keitel drastically changed my destiny.
