It is not “hitting” but “being hit” that becomes a weapon.

The fighting club that Tyler and I created, commonly known as the Fight Club, is violent, but it is a little different from so-called violence. The important thing is not to hit, but to be hit. Through that pain, they realize that they are "alive." Helena Bonham Carter, who played the heroine Mara, analyzes it as follows. “This is a desperate Arrival to a society that pushes the soul to death without pain. With the same psychology as self-torture, we inflict physical pain on each other in an attempt to erase mental pain.”

Being “beaten” eventually becomes their weapon. Tyler takes on the gang of the owner of the basement where the club is hosted, and secures the place by getting beat up. Also, when I request my boss to work from home, I punch myself in the face with my own fist, and through this unusual act, my request is passed. They had acquired an incredible weapon.

However, Tyler uses this strength to lead the Fight Club members and plan a bomb attack. Destroy luxury cars! We don't need computers! Blow up skyscrapers! Such sabotage eventually puts Mara in danger, and ``I'' rebel against Tyler. Incidentally, the process of bomb creation, which was supposed to be depicted in detail in accordance with the original story, was cut from the movie due to complaints from the bomb squad of the Los Angeles Police Department.
