The projected teacher-pupil relationship between Redford and Brad Pitt

``Spy Game'' is a suspense action blockbuster released in 2001 by Tony Scott. It was originally planned to be a Hollywood film by Dutch film director Mike van Dim, who won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film for ``Character'' (1997), but due to a combination of circumstances, He decided to step down, and Scott was reportedly approached as a solid choice to replace him.

With two-thirds of the movie consisting of flashback scenes, there was a risk that if one mistake was made, the movie would become difficult to understand. But Scott saw an opportunity right there. He thought that by using sound and video to depict flashbacks from the United States, Vietnam, Germany, Beirut, and China, it would be possible to create an interesting effect that transports the audience to different parts of the world from the comfort of their seats. .

As a result, the color tones in each country's scenes are completely different, as well as the temperature, air, sunlight, city appearance, and people's activities. These elements were key to increasing the reality of this work.

Another highlight of this film is the cast.

Scott continued to use the famous actor Denzel Washington in many of his films in the 2000s, but for this one he chose to cast Robert Redford and Brad Pitt (he rejected an offer to do The Bourne Identity (2002) and chose this one instead). This is a valuable work that dynamically depicts the co-starring performance of two great actors. It is said that Scott, who had already decided on the role, was the one who strongly encouraged this casting.

“A River Runs Through It” Preview

Redford and Brad Pitt are a master-student duo who directed and starred in the classic film ` `A River Runs Through It' ' (1992). Since then, they have been told that they look alike, and about 10 years have passed since then, and in this work they play the master-pupil relationship between a CIA veteran and a novice, as if it were an extension of reality. . This is a very interesting situation that goes beyond the difference between mere fiction and a document.
