Q: 18 years have passed since the third movie in the series, “ matrix Revolutions ” (2003). Did you have a feeling that you would return to this world again?

Keanu: Hmm, I wonder... I don't know much about that, but I know that Lana and Lily (Wachowski) already had a plan for the next one when they did the first matrix (1999), and it was a "Thomas Anderson story" so to speak. "was. I felt like I wanted to depict more of what kind of "choices" he would make.

And this time, another story was born for Lana. It was a kind of love story between Neo and Trinity. Neo and Trinity are an important part of Lana's life, and she loves them very much. And the bond of love is the most important thing to Lana. Without a doubt, Lana's deep love for both of them was the driving force behind the film.

Q: Were you excited to hear from Lana that you would be making a sequel?

Keanu: I received a call from my girlfriend at home, and I couldn't help but get up from the sofa I was sitting on and say, ``Of course I'll be on the show!'' (laughs) The movie is ``The matrix'' and the director is Lana. There is no reason to refuse!

Q: So you hadn't read the script yet at that point? How did you feel after reading it?

Keanu: I was very surprised. After all, isn't it? Thomas Anderson is not who he used to be, Trinity is set to be Tiffany, and Morpheus is completely different from his old self. Moreover, the relationship between Neo and Morpheus is completely different. What remains the same as before is that there is more depth to both the characters and the story. I thought it was Lana.
