"Blade Runner 2049" (17)

Johnnie Walker Black Label brings back the past

Director: Denis Villeneuve Cast: Ryan Gosling, Harrison Ford

A detective takes off his trench coat in his home/office, drinks a glass of whiskey, and reflects on the day's investigation. ` `Blade Runner '' recreates the hard-boiled film noir of the 1940s in a futuristic world.

Deckard from "Blade Runner" follows Roy Batty, an android "replicant", in Los Angeles in 2019. And then there's Rachel, who was created without a set lifespan outside of the standard and had a clever memory implanted into her, so she doesn't realize she's a replicant. This sci-fi setting is adapted into the style of hard-boiled films based on works by Dashiell Hammett and Raymond Chandler.

The official sequel is Blade Runner 2049 , which takes place 30 years later. In both films, Deckard is drinking Johnnie Walker Black Label. In Japan, his common name is "Joni Kuro".

Johnnie Walker Black Label is the best-selling Scotch whiskey in the world and can be said to be the representative blended whisky. Whiskey has a different taste depending on the distillery, but Johnnie Walker has been blending dozens of types of malt whiskey with grain whiskey to achieve a consistent taste. Among them, Joni Kuro uses whiskey that has been aged for at least 12 years, and has a balanced taste of bitterness and smokiness, giving it a sharp taste.

Originally, Joni Black came in a rectangular bottle, but in the first Blade Runner movie, the bottle was shaped like an iron array with polygonal bulges at the top and bottom. In the second film, ``Blade Runner 2049,'' the top and bottom are slightly bulged to match the diagonal label of Johnny Black. It is a detailed prop of art arranged as a ``product of the future world.''

The ``Blade Runner 2049'' version of Joni Black was released in a limited edition of 500 bottles as the ``Johnny Walker Black Label Director's Cut,'' which also had an original blend of contents, but it appears to have sold out quickly.
