Affinity between movies and whiskey

Whisky is a general term for a distilled alcoholic drink made from grains, saccharified and fermented, and then aged in a wooden barrel. If you follow this format, everything is "whisky," from something you can casually drink for just 500 yen to something that costs over 1 million yen per glass, and there are many different types.

Just because you can drink it for 500 yen doesn't mean it's bad, and whiskey that costs 1 million yen has added value beyond just taste, as it is a historical treasure.

Similarly, movies come in a wide variety of flavors, from indie works made cheaply by unknown young people to major studio blockbusters released worldwide with tens of billions of yen invested. And just because it's low-budget doesn't mean it's boring, and just because it's a blockbuster doesn't mean it's guaranteed to be entertaining.

A unique film with a strong auteur character is like a single malt whisky, while a film that has been toned down for global release is like a smooth Canadian whisky.

Also, depending on your mood, sometimes you want to watch something heavy, rich, full-bodied, and other times you want something elegant and crisp to refresh your mood.

Choosing the right movie and whiskey to suit your mood can be considered an adult hobby.
